Abstract

1388366 Infusion bag; labelling A RAMBOLD 19 July 1973 [26 July 1972] 34365/73 Headings B8C and B8F In a tea infusion bag 528 which has its head 520 reinforced by a folded flexible strip 520 covering one or both sides of the bag and stapled or welded to the head 530, tear lines formed in the or one of the strip portions covering a bag side define, upon tearing, a hanger for connection to a tea-pot spout and at least one web which links the bag and hanger. The hanger includes an I-shaped cut 568. In one embodiment, Fig. 4, parallel longitudinally extending tear lines 578, 588 and a transverse tear line 580 extending between them define the hanger 584 and two linking webs 586, 590. The covering strip portion 526 not forming the hanger and webs includes a longitudinally extending cut (596, Fig. 5), and an oblique cut 594 extending from the fold line forms a corner portion 598 engagable in the cut (596) when the covering strip portion 526 is folded upwardly about a transverse fold line (592, Fig. 5) which may also comprise a tear line. In another embodiment (Figs. 1-3) one of the longitudinal tear lines is omitted and the transverse tear line (480) extends between the one longitudinal tear line (478) which is located adjacent one longitudinal edge (464), and the opposite longitudinal edge (438) of the strip. Such an arrangement defines a single linking web (486). One of the covering strip portions may also serve as a label.
