Abstract

1468813 Laminates REED INTERNATIONAL Ltd 23 Aug 1974 [25 Sept 1973] 44848/73 Heading B5N [Also in Division A5] A laminated, elongated band comprises at least two strips of board, e.g. chipboard, hardboard, cardboard, grained wood, disposed side by side and covered by an envelope 7 of flexible sheeting, preferably P.V.C., which includes weld lines 8, 9, Fig. 2, providing a fold line between two adjacent strips so the strips can then be disposed face to face to reduce the band width, the band having fastening means 1, 2 at its ends. In the embodiment shown, the band comprises three strips 4, 5, 6 of unequal width, the sum of the widths of the strips 5, 6 being less than the width of the strip 4 and the outer strips 5, 6 being covered by cushioning material, polyester foam 12, Fig. 2. The weld lines 8, 9 seal each strip in an airtight manner in its own compartment. The band is said to be used as a neck supporting collar and includes transverse score lines 10, 11 in the strip 4 to facilitate bending.
