Abstract

1387326 Boxes PLESSEY CO Ltd 1 March 1973 [11 March 1972] 11457/72 Heading B8P [Also in Division E2] A box (a record player and/or tape player cabinet) comprises a cover 22, a base 24, and a pinless hinge which allows base and cover to be separated in the cover closed position. The hinge has a first member 4 provided with a curved end portion 8 which is received in an aperture 10 in a second member 6-ready separation of the members being possible in the closed position (Fig. 3) but not in the open positions (Fig. 4). The members 4, 6 are either integral formations (as shown) or are formed separately and secured by rivets or screws, and the hinge is formed from metal, e.g. steel or plastics, e.g. nylon, polyethylene, polyvinyl- chloride. A spring or manually positioned stay 28 holds the cover open.
