1383676 2 - Diethylamino - 4 - hydroxy - 6- methyl pyrimidines IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 5 Oct 1973 [14 July 19721 33080/72 Heading C2C Compounds of Formula I wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, are obtained by heating the corresponding 2-nitraminopyrimidine with diethylamine and an inert liquid diluent (e.g. dimethylformamide), at 130‹ to 190‹C. in a closed vessel under autogenous pressure. Examples describe the preparation of compounds of Formula I wherein R is -H and n-C 4 H 9 . The compounds of Formula I are pesticides.
