1382587 Blood cholesterol-lowering medicines IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 30 Oct 1972 [16 Dec 1971] 58398/71 Heading A5B Pharmaceutical compositions having hypocholesterolemic and serum triglyceride-lowering action comprise 2-p-chlorophenoxy-2- methylpropionic acid or an ester, amide or salt thereof and from 10 to 25% by weight thereof of a tocopherol having vitamin A activity, e.g. α-, #-, γ- or #-tocopherol, esters thereof and mixtures. Suitable esters of the propionic acid derivatives include those with alcohols R'OH where R' is piperidyl or alkyl substituted by pyridyl or nicotinoyloxy groups. The compositions may be in conventional orally administrable forms comprising the axial excipients and carriers.
