Abstract

1382213 Sliding clasp fastener elements YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 31 July 1973 [3 Aug 1972] 36348/73 Heading E2S A sliding clasp fastener 10 comprises stringer tapes 11, 11 each carrying on one surface thereof discrete moulded or die cast elements 13 each of which consists of an upper coupling member 14, a lower coupling member 17 and a leg portion 18, the leg portion having formed on one side an indent 19 having a depth. 20 approximating the thickness of the tape and providing a first surface 21 for adhesive contact with an upper surface of the tape and a second surface for adhesive contact with the end face 22 of the longitudinal edge of the tape. As shown, in which the leg portion is recessed for stitching 25, the indent is grooved for engagement with a ridge 23 on the tape. In other arrangements, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), the lower' coupling member is respectively triangular in shape and of greater thickness than the tape.
