Abstract

1381900 Glass doors VEREINIGTE BAUBESCHLAGFABRIKEN GRETSCH & CO GmbH 26 Oct 1972 [17 Nov 1971] 49357/72 Heading E1R A fitting for a frameless glass door comprises parts 4, 5 on opposite sides of the glass connected by a screw connection 13 and spaced by a distance piece, each part consisting of two plates with holes for the screw. The holes in the outer plates 6, 6' are larger than those in the inner plates and accommodate the head 14 and nut 15 of the screw connection. Adjacent plates 5, 6 and 5', 6' are welded or glued together, and a sleeve 17 is welded to plate 7'. The distance piece is formed by bent edges 22 or by replaceable rods (29, Fig. 6, not shown). An insert 18 is secured by pins (20, Fig. 1 not shown) and screws (19) to sleeve 17 and has a recess (21) for a spindle of a door handle. Covers 9, 10 are attached by pin (25) and screw (26).
