Abstract
1381380 Dyed starch, amylose and amylopectin WARNER LAMBERT CO 6 Sept 1972 41241/72 Heading C3U [Also in Division G1] A water-soluble, dyed substrate of general formula (C 6 H 10 O 5 ) n -D where n is a large whole number and (C 6 H 10 O 5 ) n is a starch, amylose or an amylopectin residue and D is the residue of a reactive dyestuff, e.g. of is obtained by incubating an alkaline solution of the appropriate polysaccharide with the reactive dye, neutralizing the reaction mixture to provide a salt concentration of from 0À14 to 4À5% w/v based on total volume and removing all the unreacted dye by a multiple precipitation process, conducted at a controlled temperature, wherein the dyed substrate is precipitated, redissolved and re-precipitated until the supernatant liquid from the last precipitation is free of all dye colour; the water-soluble dyed substrate obtained thereby only containing chemically bound reactive dye.
