Abstract

1381341 Ladle bottoms DIDIER-WERKE AG 17 Jan 1972 [16 Jan 1971] 2218/72 Heading F4B A sliding gate nozzle unit adapted for use with ladles comprises a refractory nozzle plate 10 located in a nozzle frame 5 attached to the vessel bottom and a refractory sliding plate 11 adjacent the underside of the nozzle plate 10 and being linearly or rotatably slidable thereover, the plate being disposed in a framework 15, 16. In the nozzle unit, a refractory gasket of preformed compressible material is interposed between the nozzle plate and the vessel bottom and also between the sliding plate and its respective framework. The gasket may be formed of a refractory ceramic fibre felt of 48% Al 2 O 3 and 52% SiO 2 , or alternatively of 54À5% SiO 2 , 42À3% Al 2 O 3 and 3À2% Cr 2 O 3 .
