Abstract
1380940 Flexible shaft couplings EISENWERK WULFEL 23 Dec 1971 [24 Dec 1970] 60075/71 Heading F2U A resilient coupling comprises two shaft mounted members 1, 2 having facing rounded recesses 4, 5 in faces spaced apart radially locating resilient non-metallic bodies 3, against axial movement (e.g. by a radial end wall and a ring 6 sprung into a groove), each of the bodies 3 having a bore 7 extending axially therethrough. In the unloaded condition the bodies may be of circular, elliptical or polygonal cross-section. Typical sizes, proportions and torque/twist curves are given. Each pair of recesses 4, 5 may house either one body 3 or a pair axially end to end as in Fig. 4. The coupling may comprise two couplings with a common ring 2.
