Abstract

1380866 Feeding sheets ROTAPRINT GmbH 26 March 1973 [20 Oct 1972] 14517/73 Heading B8R Sheets are separated from the bottom of a pile 10 by a rotatable suction roller 5 which is arranged to be moved to-and-fro about the axis of a rotatable gripper cylinder 7. Movement of the roller from position "S" to position "U" causes the lowermost sheet to be drawn from the pile and presented to a gripper 6 on the cylinder 7 such that its leading edge is in engagement with a stop on the gripper. The suction roller, which has a row of suction apertures 9 along a generator thereof, is rotatably driven by gear engagement with the cylinder 7 and is moved to-and-fro by a crank disc 1, connecting-rod 3 and rocker arm 4.
