Abstract

1369751 Delivering sheets ROLAND OFFSETMASCHINENFABRIK FABER & SCHLEICHER AG 14 July 1972 [14 July 1971] 33145/72 Heading B8R Sheets delivered from a printing machine are carried by an endless conveyer 18, Fig. 1, having grippers 25 in the direction of arrow 17, transferred to reciprocating take-off grippers 19 and dropped on to a pile 6 supported on a vertically movable pile support, the speed of a sheet 12 during transfer being reduced by an air curtain produced by a plurality of nozzles 40a, Fig. 2, spaced across the sheet in the vicinity of adjustable rear stack guides 11, 11<SP>1</SP> to blow air in a direction opposite to sheet movement. The air stream is below the sheet path and above a guide plate 42 formed with cut out torques 43, 44, 45. A similar air device 56 at an ascending portion of the conveyer serves to eliminate fluttering and wave motion. The air may be controlled to be supplied only when a sheet is delivered, and may be separately controlled across the sheet path according to sheet width.
