Abstract

1380295 Lintels; cavity trays EXPANDED METAL CO Ltd 29 March 1973 [30 March 1972] 15049/72 Headings E1B and E1K A lintel comprises a first metal member having upper 3 and lower 4 flanges interconnected by a sloping drip resisting flange 5, and a second member 6 secured to the lower flange and defining with the upper flange and the web a space which receives foam plastics insulating material. The flanges 3 and 4 may be braced by crossed reinforcing rods 10 and expanded-metal or steel mesh 14 may be secured between the flanges to receive plaster. The reinforcing rods may be replaced by a metal plate. The inner faces of the flanges and the web may be coated with an epoxy resin binder before the foam plastics is moulded therein.
