Abstract

1379030 Record rack stands G KIEVES 8 Dec 1971 [2 March 1971] 56998/71 Heading A4H [Also in Division B6] Holders 44, Fig. 2, for receiving record jackets J each include shafts 56, (60) pivotally mounted in holes 40, (42) in rails 32, (34) mounted on a base 12, and a pin 64, whereby slotted links 66 connect the pins 64 of adjacent holders 44, so that, with all holders 44 receiving jackets J, when the left end holder 44 is pivoted to the left beyond the vertical position, the link 66 pivots the next adjacent holder 44, and similarly all the holders 44 are pivoted successively. If one holder 44 is empty, pivoting ceases at this holder. The base 12 also includes supports (22), 24 for the ends of the jackets J and stops 65, (28), 30. In a modification, left and right hand holders L, R, Fig. 6, are alternately mounted. Each right holder R has a hook tip 86 engaging a shoulder (110) of an adjacent left holder L, whilst each left holder L has a hook tip 118 engaging a shoulder (90) of an adjacent right holder R see Figs. 8, 10, (not shown) to pivotally link the holders. The holders L and R include shafts (106, 119) and (78, 92) to pivotally mount them in slots (150a, 151), Fig. 12 (not shown) in rails (148, 150) in a modified base (120). The shafts are held in the slots by resilient flanges (138, 146) mounted on the base (120).
