Abstract
817,116. Display stands. WHITMARLEY ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. March 5, 1958 [March 7, 1957], No. 7547/57. Class 52(3) A display stand for articles such as gramophone records consists of holders for the records which can be hinged to a pillar and locked in place, the holders being so constructed that they cannot be opened as long as they are mounted on the pillar. As shown, several carrriers A are mounted on a pillar 10, each carrier comprising a sleeve and top and bottom plates 13, 12 each having a peripheral line of apertures which receive depending top and bottom hinge pins 28, 29 of a record holder 19 shown in Fig. 3. Pins 28, 29 are mounted on different halves 20, 24 of the holder made of wire, the halves being hinged together at 23. Thus after insertion of the record and hinging of the holder to the carrier plates 12, 13 the holder cannot be opened. An upper plate 15 prevents removal of the holders. The carriers are locked on the pillar by clamping means 17 at the top. An alternative holder, Fig. 6, consists of a box-like wire frame 31, 32 having at its open end hinge pins 36, 37 and a pivoted gate 34 which cannot be opened while the holder is on the carrier.
