Abstract

1379021 Liquid level indication CENTRAL ELECTRICITY GENE-RATING BOARD AND C J W BARNABY 14 Dec 1971 [30 Sept 1970] 15239/70 Heading G1H A dip weight for indicating the amount of water in the bottom of an oil tank comprises a translucent or transparent member 15 surrounded by a weighted frame 12, 13 or attached to a weight provided with suspension means, measurement graduations 16 being formed on or in alignment with the member 15. In use "Bluchalk" is applied to one of the faces of the member 15 and the weight suspended from a tape is lowered into the tank. On removal the oil is wiped from the face adjacent the scale so that the changed tones of the "Bluchalk" can be seen.
