1379062 Phenethyl - imino - pyrrolidines, phenethylamines and corresponding nitro-compounds McNEIL LABORATORIES Inc 24 July 1972 [23 July 1971] 34564/72 Heading C2C Novel compounds (I) (including salts and optical isomers thereof) where R 1 is C 1-6 alkyl or benzyl, R 2 is H or C 1-6 alkyl and R 3 and R 4 are C 1-6 alkoxy, provided that when R 1 is benzyl, R 2 is alkyl, are made by reacting (II) with compounds (III), themselves obtained from the corresponding nitro compounds (salts of III are also described). Pharmaceutical preparations showing ganglionic blocking, hypotensive, cardiac slowing and cardiac atrial antiarrhythmic activities contain (I) as active ingredient. Administration is, e.g. intravenously.
