1376662 Making boxes AIRFIX INDUSTRIES Ltd 2 Jan 1973 [21 Jan 1972] 2991/72 Headings B5D and B5A [Also in Division B8] A box of paper, board, plastics or metal foil, made from the blank shown in Fig. 1 or Fig. 4, has overlapping portions of the folded blank united by injecting material therebetween. The thickness of the material between the overlapping portions is substantially less than the length of the material in the direction of the overlap. The blank is assembled in a cavity tool 10 into which fits a core 11. To ensure that the material flows between the overlapped portions the edge of one member 6 may be curved as shown dotted in Fig. 2, and the mould is relieved at 18, 19 to permit spreading of the overlapped portions. Separate blanks may be positioned in the cavity tool instead of a single blank.
