Abstract

1376648 Dual brake valves CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO Ltd 18 May 1973 [29 June 1972] 30504/72 Heading F2F An hydraulic dual brake valve comprises a balance beam having arms of equal length through which respective valve assemblies are actuated, the assemblies having different areas exposable to fluid pressure causing a reaction on the assemblies. Each valve assembly 6 has a protruding stem 6a operating a ball or disc valve 7 so that pressure fluid from a pressure source passes from a chamber 8 to a chamber 9 and thence to the brakes. The ports 12 are connected to reservoirs, As shown, the reaction areas are the different areas 13 between the stems 6a and the main valve bodies, caused by the different valve assembly diameter. Alternatively, the valve assembly diameters may be identical but with the reaction occurring only on part of the body having a reduced area of at least one assembly so formed.
