Abstract

1376545 Antistatic non-woven fabric E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 27 Feb 1973 [29 Feb 1972] 9535/73 Heading DIP A non-woven sheet of polyolefin film-fibrils having a surface area greater than 2m<SP>2</SP>/g has deposited thereon as an antistatic finish at least one compound of formula M n R 3-n PO 4 , wherein M is Li, Na, K or NH 4 , R is C 3-5 alkyl and n is 1 or 2. The compound can be applied to the fabric from aqueous solution which may contain a surfactant or a volatile alcohol by immersion, kiss-roll or gravure roll. The surfactant may be nonylphenoxy polyoxyethylene ethanol. The treated sheet also has resistance to water penetration.
