Abstract

1373884 Thread storage feeder; yarn delivery K I J ROSEN 30 Nov 1972 [3 Dec 1971] 55299/72 Headings D1C and D1J In a thread storage feeder the thread is positively fed and taken off under a guide 17a and through an eye 15 in a pivotable arm 11 (Fig. 1). The arm is spring biassed to maintain a loop of thread A to compensate for the temporary differences in the rates of thread supply and thread consumption. If the thread breaks the arm springs upwards and operates a stop-motion, which includes a light 28. The arm may also be clamped parallel to the axis of the cage 1 to permit thread to be drawn off axially as required, instead of being positively fed (Fig. 2, not shown). The stop-motion facility is then not available. In a modification (Fig. 5) the stationary guide 17a is replaced by a movable arm 17' which may be clamped parallel to the axis of the cage when positive feed is not required, leaving the arm 11 free to continue to act as a stop motion.
