Abstract

1373795 Escalator step A MOSSNER ALUMINIUMUND METALLGIESSEREI and FLOHR-OTIS GmbH 22 Nov 1971 [20 Nov 1970] 54142/71 Heading B8A A one-piece, die-cast escalator step comprises a tread plate, a riser plate whose upper edge adjoins the front edge of the tread plate, struts 20 connecting the bottom edge of the riser plate and the rear edge of the tread plate, bearing and fastening devices 16, 17 disposed on the struts and adapted for the mounting of rollers (not shown) and for coupling the escalator step to a driving chain (not shown), and at least one stiffening rib 18 which extends in contact with the tread plate and riser plate and which is provided between the struts. The devices 17 comprise bearing pins which are integrally cast in the struts and which are adapted for the mounting of the rollers. The tread plate and the riser plate are each constructed with a rib grid 12, 13, 14, projecting from the main plane thereof. The ribs 12, 13 at the rear edge of the tread plate, alternately extend different distances in the rearward direction.
