Abstract

1370838 Open end spindle ELITEX-ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITELSTVI 27 April 1972 [16 June 1971] 19531/72 Heading DID In an open end spinning machine a spindle brake lever 6 is pivotally mounted to the spring chamber housing 3 and is biassed to its inoperative position by a resilient member e.g. a leaf spring 12. In its spinning position, Fig. 1 (not shown), a drive pulley 10 engages a driving belt 5. When pulled forward to the cleaning position, Fig. 2, the opening mechanism 2 moves from the housing 3 to reveal the spinning chamber which continues to rotate under momentum hence facilitating mechanical cleaning. The spindle is located in this position by a catch 13 on the brake lever. Downward pressure on the opening mechanism 2, Fig. 3 (not shown) overcomes the leaf spring 12 to engage the brake and stop the spindle.
