Abstract
1370170 Boiler; draught regulation REDFYRE Ltd 15 March 1973 [22 March 1972] 13454/72 Headings F4A and F4W An oil-fired domestic boiler includes an air inlet duct 13 leading to a combustion chamber and arranged to be connected to an air intake of a balanced flue terminal, a combustion gas outlet duct 15 leading from the combustion chamber and arranged to be connected to a gas discharge opening of the terminal, a connection between the ducts 13 and 15 and an electrically driven blower for aiding the discharge of combustion gas. A blower 16 draws air through an inlet facing away from but in communication with the inlet duct 13, and passes it through a duct 19 to the combustion chamber inside casing 2. Combustion gases from burner 1 pass through the chamber inside water jacket 3, where they are deflected by baffle 22, to the outlet duct 15. A second blower 27 draws air from the inlet duct and discharges it into the outlet duct to dilute the combustion gas. Alternatively the dilution air may be tapped off the blower 16 or may be drawn into the outlet duct by an injector. The burner 1 is controlled by a temperature sensitive device 32 in the outlet duct.
