1369731 Feeding sheets HAMADA PRINTING PRESS MFG CO Ltd 23 Aug 1972 [26 Aug 1971] 39222/72 Heading B8R Sheets are separated from the top of a pile 4 by two pairs 30, 30<SP>1</SP> of pneumatic suckers, Figs. 1 and 2, mounted for movement along a path S around a central stationary shaft 10 on rotation of a driven gear 15 and a cam disc 16, connected by shafts 18, 19, 18<SP>1</SP>, 19<SP>1</SP>, around the shaft in synchronism with a printing-machine. Considering one sucker 30, the sucker is mounted pivotally by a pin 25 on a plate 23 and is oscillated with respect to the plate by a cam roller 35 engaging a stationary cam 46. The plate 23 is rigid on the shaft 18, which carries a gear 20 meshing with a gear 21 on the shaft 19, the gear 19 rolling round a stationary external sun wheel 22 or a corresponding internal sun wheel. The plate 23 carries a pivoted link 26 pivoted to an arm 27 rotatable on the shaft 10. The pin 25 follows a triangular cycloned path comprising three concave sections T. The other sucker 30 is similarly mounted at the other end of the shafts 18, 19 1 while the suckers 30<SP>1</SP> are similarly mounted on the shafts 18<SP>1</SP>, 19<SP>1</SP>, the plate 23<SP>1</SP> extending from the shaft 181 in the same direction as the plate 23 from the shaft 18. As a sucker carries a sheet from the pile to positions e, f, g, it is maintained directly facing the pile. The suction source is connected through the driving and stationary parts so as to be connected at the time of sheet pick-up and disconnected at position g, when the sheet is forwarded by rollers 6. A blow nozzle 41 is controlled by lobes 17, 17<SP>1</SP> of cam disc 16 so as to be lowered to the chain line position during separation to blow air under the top sheet, while at the same time a front stop 5 is pivoted out of the path of the sheet. The pile support 3 is raised as the pile diminishes.
