1368706 Moulding tyres K ZANGL 27 July 1972 35173/72 Heading B5A A tyre mould of the kind comprising opposed mould parts 100, 400 and radially movable tread segments 300a displaced radially by inclined guide surfaces on a surrounding guide 200 attached to a part 1 of a press, includes arms 100a extending radially from the mould part 100 and which are slotted at 101 to receive screws 301 attached to the tread segments whereby the latter are secured to the mould part and may move radially relative to it. The guide 200 is recessed at 202, Fig. 3, to receive the arms when the mould is closed. The tread segments are located in shoes 300 which slide on pins 303 secured to the guide. Relative axial movement between the mould part 100 and press part 1 is effected by a drive cylinder 2. In a modification, Fig. 12, the lower one of the opposed mould parts is connected to the tread segments and to the lower part of a press, as is the surrounding guide. Instead of a drive cylinder, the guide has springs 310 within tubes 311 attached to the tread segments whereby the segments are urged upwardly and radially outwardly.
