Abstract

1368471 Window frames; double glazing KAHRS MASKINER AB 19 Oct 1971 [22 Oct 1970] 48592/71 Headings E1J and E1R A window frame corner joint comprises two frame members 1, 2 of identical cross-section, each having a central web 3, 17 and side flanges 4, 5 and 18, 19 defining respective longitudinally extending channels 11, 24 facing the frames interior, the flanges 18, 19 on the member 2 being cut back to define a tongue 27' of a length less than the depth of the channel, the tongue being inserted into the channel 11 to thereby define a gap s between the end of the tongue and the bottom of the channel, the members being connected together by an element (e.g. bolts 31, 39) which pass through both webs. The flanges also define outwardly extending surfaces 6, 20 for cooperation with a main frame into which the window frame is inserted. Sealing material may be placed in a groove 47. A double glazed window may be retained by a strip 45 and a rubber or resilient plastics sealing strip 46 in the channel 11. The frame members may be of wood, aluminium or welded metal.
