Abstract

1368260 Partitions, composite panels UNITED STATES GYSUM CO 26 Oct 1971 49741/71 Headings E1B and E1W A partition for, e.g. a school, comprises panels 44 with sealing strips 84a, 84b arranged along their vertical edges, which strips provide, inter alia, a certain amount of resistance to loading against the face of the panel. Each panel is located in a ceiling channel 36 at its upper edge, and by one or more plates, which may, e.g. be spiked (as at 80), at its lower edge. Each panel may comprise a pair of laminated insulation boards 47a, 47b with sheet steel facings 48, 50, bent to form side and bottom edge channels, e.g. 58, in which are located the sealing strips and an H-sectioned base strip 72, respectively, the base strip carrying the base plate(s). The sealing strips may be shaped as shown, or with other corrugated or toothed configurations, Figs. 16-20 (not shown). Intermediate studs, e.g. (146), Fig. 8 (not shown) may be provided between panels at corners, and are seated on base plates (164), Fig. 10 (not shown), which interlock with adjacent panels.
