Abstract

1368001 Step-ladders D S HENDERSON and J A HENDERSON 12 May 1972 22492/72 Heading E1S A step-ladder, comprising a ladder part 10 and a pivoted strut frame 11, is provided with struts 19, 20 pivotally connected at their upper ends to the stiles 15, 16 by hinges 21, 22 which allow the struts to be moved laterally and preferably also forwards or rearwards of the ladder 10 between a position lying against the stiles and a position (as shown) where they engage the ground to support the ladder in use. The hinges 21, 22 each comprise a pair of flaps of which one is fixed to the strut and the other is pivoted to the stile (or vice versa). Clips 32 hold the struts against the stiles when not in use.
