Abstract

1367275 Hose clips H OETIKER 10 April 1973 [11 April 1972 9 Aug 1972] 17228/73 Heading E2B A hose clip for securing a hose 6 on to a nipple 7 comprises a flexible elongated strip 1 having a first longitudinally extending series of holes 3 adjacent a first end 2 and at least one barb 5 between the holes 3 and its second end 4 such that when the strip is put around the hose the or each barb is received in a respective hole 3, the strip also having a second longitudinally extending series of holes 8 adjacent its end 4 and a longitudinally extending slot between the series of holes 3 and the barb or barbs; the wall of the slot directed away from the end 2 has a radially outwardly directed projection 22. As shown, the end 4 of the clip has a tongue 10 which, when the clip is in use, is located in the slot 9. A tool 23, Fig. 3, is engaged in the holes 8 to tension the clip and engage the barbs 5 in the holes 3. In a modification, the clip is formed with substantially U-shaped deformations 11, 12 and 13 and is split at at least one position to define ends 16 provided with apertures 17 in which is engaged a spring member 18 enclosing a cylindrical piece 21 of resilient material; the crown of the loop of the member 18 may have an indentation therein.
