Abstract
1367253 Building foundations; wall panels G L EISCHEN and E ELSEN 18 Feb 1972 [22 Feb 1971 10 April 1971 (2) 6 Dec 1971] 7519/72 Headings E1A and E1W [Also in Division B5] In a building construction comprising columns, Fig. 1, which are interconnected by base members to form a three-dimensional skeleton foundation framework, each column is provided with three support legs 2 extending from a steel-reinforced concrete base 1 and a beam 3 having at least two flanges at right angles to one another for the attachment of wall panels thereto. The beam may be of X- or L-shaped cross-section and the base of the column consist of a plate having three projecting steel hooks, see Fig. 3 (not shown). In a further modified form of column, see Figs. 4-7 (not shown), the boom is provided at its base with four steel profiled plates which are notched and shaped to provide the support legs. The flanges of the beams are apertured and the wall panels provided with apertured attachment lugs whereby they may be selectively bolted to the former to form outer walls or partition walls, see Figs. 8, 9 and 10 (not shown). The floor 28 bears on the shoulder of a basement wall 19, 29a, Fig. 14, and is covered with a concrete slab 32, an insulation malt 33 and an asphalt layer 33a. The outer wall 35 consists of framed intermediate layer 37, 39 which is attached by a bolted bracket connection 31, 40 to an anchorage 30 in the basement wall member 22a. The wall panel which has fire-resistant and sound-proof properties may consist of an outer styrofoam layer 42, Fig. 16, a middle layer 43 of polystyrene foam and a magnesite bonded wood chip layer 44; the three layers being interconnectd by an adhesive mortar incorporating glass fibres 45. An additional adhesive mortar layer 46 is externally applied to-gether with a Stucco finishing coat 47 whilst a suitable finishing coat 47a is applied to the inside surface of the panel. For numerous minor modifications and details involving joints, seals, framework, re-inforcements, panels, internal walls and basement construction the Specification and remaining drawings (not shown), should be referred to.
