Abstract

1366679 Pistons GEORGE ANGUS & CO Ltd 11 Oct 1972 [5 Nov 1971] 51568/71 Heading F2T A piston for a piston and cylinder device wherein a cylinder space 18 for effecting fluidcushioned arrest at the end of the piston stroke is provided, is externally moulded in an elastomoric material to provide intergral sealing lips 15, 16. A sheath 14, e.g. of butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber or polyurethane, may be moulded on to a core 10, e.g. of die-cast, sintered or plastics material, and a threaded bore 13 may be provided for a piston-rod. Alternatively, Fig. 2 (not shown), a through bore (20) may be provided in the core for the piston-rod.
