Abstract

1364328 Mounting bases for circuit breakers SQUARE D CO 25 May 1972 [9 June 1971] 24607/72 Heading H1N [Also in Division H2] An insulating base member 10 into which a circuit breaker 33 may be plugged comprises a pair of parallel walls 20, 22 upstanding from a base-plate 14, wall 20 being taller than wall 22 and being provided with an opening 42 therethrough which is aligned with an upwardly opening recess 22a in wall 22. A plug-on terminal connector member 12 having a wire connecting portion to the left of wall 20, extends through the opening 42 in wall 20 and is retained in position by a tang portion 12c whose reduced dimension portion rests in the recess 22a and whose cross-bar engages the shorter wall 22. The tang portion 12c is initially bent upwards for insertion into the base member and is only straightened once it is in position. As shown two line terminal connectors 12 separated by a partition 26 and a portion 28 are provided for two circuit breakers. Neutral terminals 13 are provided. Each circuit breaker has jaws which plug-on to the flat portions 12b of one of the terminal connectors 12 and a spring clip which co-operates with a rounded edge 18a of an end wall 18.
