Abstract

1364079 Stud and socket fastenings F T PRODUCTS Ltd 18 Sept 1972 [16 Sept 1971] 43317/71 Addition to 1307066 Heading E2B A fastening device for retaining a resilient tubular member 28 in an apertured panel 30 comprises an apertured body 11, a circumferential side 16 extends into the aperture of the body and a sleeve 25 extends from an end of the body, the internal surface of the sleeve being cylindrical and forms a continuation of the aperture in the body and the external surface being frusto conical and wherein the rib is interrupted by at least one gap to allow for expansion of. a part of the tubular member into the gap or gaps. The device is made from a plastics material which is difficult to deform and so that a skirt portion 14 is slightly flexible. The tubular member is also made of plastics and is slightly flexible and resilient. In a modification shown in Fig. 6 the body portion 41 has the interrupted rib and an external annular portion 47 with peripheral lips 48, 49.
