Abstract

1362249 Air filtering apparatus JOHN BASS Ltd 13 June 1972 [18 June 1971] 28630/71 Heading BIT [Also in Division F4] Air filtering apparatus comprises a housing 4 of rectangular cross-section divided by an internal wall 7 into two compartments 3, 5. Inlet compartment 3 contains an electrically driven fan or blower 8 mounted on the wall 7 and arranged to deliver air through aperture 9 into outlet compartment 5. The air to supply the blower enters the housing through a first coarse filter element 12. Air leaves the housing through rectangular filter element 13 which is 'removably mounted on the housing by finemesh screen 14 to form the front wall of the housing. The speed of the blower may be adjusted by control 11 to provide a laminar outlet flow, further adjustment being necessary as the filter clogs. A single housing may contain two blowers (Figs. 3, 4 not shown). The apparatus may be mounted in a clean-air cabinet (Figs. 5-13, not shown) or a number of such apparatus may be mounted to provide air-circulation in a closed room (Figs. 14-17, not shown).
