Abstract

1361971 Evaporation in a fluidized bed STRUTHERS SCIENTIFIC & INTERNATIONAL CORP 23 July 1971 [13 June 1970 (2)] 28721/70 and 28722/70 Heading B1B A solution of a solid is introduced into a hot fluidized bed 18 of particles through apertures 24 in a pipe 22 which passes right across the upper layer of the bed. The bed is fluidized by air which has been blown through heater 13 and perforated plate 17. Pipe 22 has a steeply-sloping cover 25 to militate the collection of material on the pipe. A mixture of evaporated solvent and air leaves the container 16 through duct 19; and the solid product is withdrawn through pipe 20. The production. of ammonium sulphate pellets of desired size is referred to.
