Abstract

1360200 Oxide fibres IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 21 May 1971 [19 June 1970 10 Feb 1971] 05395/74 and 5396/74 Divided out of 1360197 Heading C1A Metal oxide fibres are produced by spinning a solution containing a metal compound and polyvinyl alcohol or partially hydrolysed polyvinyl acetate, the amount of metal compound being more than that of the polymer, and heating the fibres to form the oxide. The description is the same as that in Specification 1,360,197. The examples relate to forming fibres of Al 2 O 3 and ZrO 2 stabilized with CaO, Y 2 O 3 and Al 2 O 3 with or without catalyst precursors.
