Abstract

1360251 Plastics coatings VAESSEN-SCHOEMAKER HOLDING NV 19 Aug 1971 [19 Aug 1970] 38952/71 Heading B2E [Also in Division B5] A coated product comprises a layer of a polar thermoplastics material, e.g. a polyamide, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, polyacrylate or polyester, bonded to a layer of a halogenated polyolefin having a halogen content of 0.2-5% by weight. The free surface of the halogenated polyolefin layer may be bonded to a layer of a polar or non-polar thermoplastics material, suitable non-polar thermoplastics materials being polyethylene, polypropylene or a copolymer of propylene with ethylene. The halogenated polyolefin which may be chlorinated polyethylene or polypropylene may be foamed. In Examples 3, 4 and 5 flat discs produced by sintering Nylon 6 or 11 or polycaprolactam granulate are coated with chlorinated polyethylene, with optional sintering.
