Abstract

1360058 Golf club cover PLASTIC DIP MOULDINGS Ltd 11 Aug 1972 [12 Aug 1971 25 Oct 1971] 37831/71 and 49411/71 Heading A6D [Also in Division B5] A golf club cover comprises a hollow head portion I and a tubular stem 2, integrally moulded of plastics material, the stem being formed with corrugations 4 to permit the club head passing therethrough. The corrugations may extend to the open end of the stem 2 or may stop short thereof. At least a part 6 of the head portion 1 may be transparent or translucent to permit the club head to be seen through the cover or the head may incorporate a club number either by embossing or printing or by the provision of a pocket for a marked disc or by moulding such a disc in the plastics material. The cover is formed by dip moulding using a suitably shaped mould. The mould may be first covered with a fabric sleeve so as to produce a fabric finish on the inside of the cover and the mould can be grooved to produce ribs on the inside of the cover to keep parts thereof from contacting the club head. Parts of the mould can be polished or shot blasted in order to produce transparent or frosted parts, respectively, in the cover, as required. For producing a pocket in the cover head portion (Fig. 6, not shown), the moulding tool is formed with a disc-shaped projection spaced from the rest of the tool but connected thereto by a bridge piece which in effect gives rise to an opening (11) into the pocket.
