Abstract

1360057 Web treating apparatus ICHIKIN KOGYOSHA KK 11 Aug 1971 [14 Aug 1970] 37808/71 Heading D1L Apparatus for treating a sheet of flexible material with a liquid includes a trough 2 having a plurality of laterally extending, longitudinally spaced ridge members 6 extending upwardly from the bottom thereof so that in use the trough can be inclined and liquid can flow longitudinally down the trough, each of the ridge members having an undercut 7 at the lower portion of the surface thereof which in use faces the liquid flowing down the trough, whereby waves are formed in the liquid flow. As shown in Fig. 3 the apparatus may comprise a plurality of troughs 2 arranged one above the other in zig-zag formation so that front and rear faces of the sheet material may be treated alternately. The apparatus may also have associated liquid recirculation means.
