1359652 Chisel ploughs J GERMANY 10 Sept 1971 [10 June 1970] 28195/70 Heading AIB A chisel tine assembly 4 for mounting to a tine supporting frame 1, 2 of a chisel plough comprises a device, including side plates 12, for mounting the assembly to the frame, a chisel tine 5 received between the plates 12 which latter may be integral with or welded to plate 11, means securing the tine to the plates rigidly in a position forwardly and downwardly inclined preferably at substantially 35‹ to the vertical and including a shear element, e.g. pin 16, adapted to shear under excessive rearward load on the lower end of the tine and release the tine from its inclined position, and a stop, e.g. bolt 17 received in plates 12 or cast integrally with or welded thereto, positioned to prevent shearing of the element under a forward load on the lower end of the tine. Figs. 2, 4 show two arrangements wherein the tine supporting bars 2 of the plough frame are of different construction. Plates 11, 12 are attached thereto by plate 20 and bolts 21. The tine may pivot on shearing of element 16 about pivot bolt 14. In another arrangement (not shown) the shear pin or element 16 may be located outside of the tine and engage its forward face 25 Fig. 4. Reinforcing angle bar 13, 29 for plates 12 may be provided. The forward faces 22, 23, 28 of the tine 5 and plates 12 may be inclined to one another at a small angle i.e. between 20 and 25‹ to minimise soil-trapping.
