1359102 Sliding wall for railway waggons; doors for load carrying vehicles WAGGON UNION GmbH 16 June 1972 28321/72 Headings B7L and B7B [Also in Divisions B8 and E2] A vehicle, such as the railway waggon shown, or container is provided with sliding wall members 5 for closing an opening between upper and lower longitudinal structural members 1 and 3, wherein each said wall member 5 is displaceable transversely outwardly of the vehicle, from the closed position shown on the left of Fig. 2 to the position shown on the right wherein rollers 23 and 26 respectively run on a rail 28 and on the lower member 3 to allow longitudinal displacement of the wall part, by means of a rotatable shaft 13, levers 15 and rollers 14 at the upper portion of the wall member and a shaft 12, levers 16 and 17, a bracket 19 and a vertical web 20 at the lower portion, pivoting of shafts 12 and 13 being effected by a hand lever 6 via push rods 8 and 9 and further levers 10, 11 and 11a. In the closed position, a vertical section 27 of the wall member closes an aperture in the member 3 to provide a continuous running surface for the rollers 26 of other wall members. When the wall member is displaced outwardly the web 20 closes the aperture for the same purpose. A pivotable flap member on the upper member 1 prevents pivoting inwardly of the levers 15 while the wall member 5 is being displaced longitudinally. Each wall member 5 comprises a spring loaded pin 30 at its lower portion which co-operates with a catch 32 to lock the wall member in its desired position and which is releasable by a lever 31, further pressure on the lever serving to shift the wall member longitudinally.
