Abstract
1358233 Coating Ti with Ag by evaporation VEREINIGTE FLUGTECHNISCHE WERKEFOKKER GmbH 20 April 1972 [20 April 1971] 18441/72 Heading C7F A Ti or Ti-based alloy article is coated by evaporation with pure Ti, which is coated with Ni, which is coated with Cu, which is coated by evaporation with Ag. The layers may be 100- 300 nm thick; the surface of the original body may be etched and the oxide film subsequently removed by ion-bombardment in argon prior to the coating process; the Ti may be evaporated by electron-beam heating, and the Ag may be thickened electrolytically.
