Abstract

1357788 Receiver cabinets; television INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 29 July 1971 [4 Aug 1970] 35648/71 Headings H3Q and H4F A radio or television receiver cabinet has a back panel 1 which can be plugged into a slot arrangement in one of the sides 3 of the cabinet and is swingable into engagement with two or more latches 7 arranged at the opposite side of the cabinet so that the latches yield automatically and engage respective openings or recesses 12 of the back panel and each latch 7 is releasable by inserting an implement into an opening 12, 14 in the back panel to engage with the latch 7. The lower side of the back of the cabinet or the mask frame 6, which is preferably made of plastics is provided with the latches 7. The surface of connecting ribs (15, Fig. 3, not shown) may be scraped off to compensate for overmeasures so as to achieve alignment and exact back panel reception. Lateral guides 5 may be provided on the back panel which co-operates with recesses in the inner side parts of the cabinet 2. An opening 14 is provided in the back panel 1 for each left and right latch 7 so that the latch can be released by inserting a screwdriver through the opening 14. The back panel can still be held in place if a latch is damaged or breaks off and additional screw holes are provided in the back panel abutment 11 and corresponding holes arranged in the back panel 1 so that a screw fastening can be made.
