Abstract

1357175 Lubricating bearings BRITISH AIRCRAFT CORP Ltd 28 Sept 1972 [27 Oct 1971] 49877/71 Heading F2A A bearing assembly comprises a bearing housing 1, a bearing 2, a lubricant reservoir 6 of sponge-like material and means 16 for squeezing the sponge-like material 15 so as to expel lubrican from the reservoir in order to lubricate the bearing. The sponge-like material may be housed in a container, the container having at least one aperture through which lubricant may pass to the bearing. The material may be squeezed by expanding gas in a flexible container located in the reservoir, the heating being effected by an electric heating element 18.
