1355007 Bearings W SCHAEFFLER and G SCHAEFFLER [trading as INDUSTRIEWERK SCHAEFFLER OHG] 22 Feb 1972 [23 Feb 1971] 8178/72 Heading F2A A plastics cage for an angular contact ball bearing comprises webs 3 delimiting ball-pockets and connected at both ends by rings 1, 2 which are radially staggered, at least one 1 of which rings being provided on the circumferential surface 9 with lugs 6 in the areas of the ballpockets, the radial distance between the surfaces 9, 10 being equal to or greater than the height of each lug. The lugs 6 engage a groove 7 in the outer race 8. The surface 10 may also carry lugs which engage a groove in the shaft; in this embodiment, the lugs are provided alternately in the circumferential direction on one and the other of the rings.
