Abstract
1354655 Scouring pads COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 4 April 1972 [5 April 1971] 15429/72 Heading C5D Metallic fibre scouring pads contain a soap composition comprising saponified fatty acids and from 1 to 10% by wt., based on the soap composition, of borax. Preferably, the soap is a 40 : 60 mixture of saponified distilled palm oil fatty acids and saponified distilled palm kernelcoconut oil fatty acids, especially the potassium soaps. The soap composition may contain (a) 1 to 5% by wt. of sodium nitrite, (b) 1 to 8% by wt. sodium carbonate, (c) perfumes and dyes and (d) 20 to 60% of water. The pads are used to produce a good, consistent shine on aluminium surfaces.
