1353799 Endless chain conveyers RUDKETTENTABRIK RIEGER & DIETZ 5 May 1971 [20 May 1970] 13256/71 Heading B8A An endless chain conveyer has two parallel chain strands 12 co-operating with vertically mounted sprocket wheels 11, load carriers 13 extending between the two chains 12, the forward end of each carrier 13 being joined by traction pins 14 to the chain strands 12, the carriers being supported in their horizontal journey between the sprockets 11 on upper and lower guide rails 16, 17 by means of rollers 15, 19 at the front and rear thereof respectively, and when the carriers 13 are reversing their direction of movement between the upper and lower rails 16, 17 each carrier 13 is maintained in a horizontal position by the engagement of rollers 20 which are mounted coaxial with the rollers 19 in notches 22 in rotary discs 21 which rotate in synchronism with the sprocket wheels 11. Guide bars 23 which are in the same vertical plane as the guide rails 16, 17 prevent the rollers 20 from falling out of the notches 22 in that part of the path of the carriers 13 by their engagement with the rollers 19, said guide bars 23 being pivotally mounted at 25 to allow said bars to lift up to permit the rollers 15 to pass during the return travel of the load carriers 13 at the lower level. In a second embodiment, Figs. 3-5 (not shown), outer and inner upper guide rails (27, 28) and outer and inner lower guide rails (29, 30) are provided, the outer rails (27, 29) supporting rollers (31, 32) on the load carriers whereas the inner rails (28, 30) support inner rollers (33). The curved guiding bar (34), which supports the inner rollers (33) while the load carriers are passing from their upper to their lower path, are fixedly mounted so that the traction pins (35) at the forward end of each carrier are formed with a bend (36) which allows the said pins to pass along under the guiding bars (34) and under the lower guide rails (30) during the return travel of the load carriers.
