Abstract
1350190 Mine support arches RHEINSTAHL AG 2 March 1972 [15 April 1971] 9743/72 Heading E1E Segments 1, 2 of a mine arch roof support of arch or ring type construction are interconnected by a pair of opposed U-section fish plates 4 terminating at one end in wedgeshaped surfaces 44, 47 as shown to facilitate positioning of the uppermost segment 2 on the floor engaging segment 1; the surfaces 47 defining a tapered mouth therebetween to receive the web of the segment 2 and the surfaces 44 co-operating with clamping irons 45 welded to the segment 2 - see Fig. 5 (not shown). In a modification the irons 45 are replaced by a box-section clamp welded or slidably mounted on the segment 2.
