Abstract
1349388 Basic dyeable polyamide compositions BAYER AG 15 June 1971 [11 July 1970] 27890/71 Heading C3R The affinity of aliphatic polyamides for basic dyes is enhanced by incorporating therewith a disulphimide X-R-SO 2 -NZ-SO 2 -R<SP>1</SP>-Y wherein R and R<SP>1</SP> are divalent non-polyamide aromatic radicals; X is H, SO 3 Z or SO 2 NH 2 ; Y is H, -(-SO 2 -NZ-SO 2 -R-) n -X or Z is alkali metal or alkaline earth metal also linked to a further radical; and n is 0 to 50. The disulphimide is used in amounts providing 30 to 300 m.equiv. disulphimide groups/Kg. polyamide but up to 50 wt. per cent may be used to provide a master batch. It may be added to the polyamide monomers as an aqueous solution or suspension. Various aliphatic polyamides are mentioned. In Examples di-(1-naphthyl)-disulphimide Na salt, 1,3-di-(naphthyl-1-disulphimide)-benzene K salt and the compounds are incorporated with nylon 6; the first compound is also incorporated in nylon 66. Reference is made to Specification 1,194,607.
